Volunteering at Forest Hill

Volunteers help the school to run more smoothly and contribute to a whole school network which is invaluable to the running of the school. Parents and community members can volunteer in a number of ways to assist with the progress and development of our students.

Volunteers are warmly welcomed at our school, especially in Literacy and Numeracy. It can be as simple as listening to children read one-on-one or testing the junior school students with their sight words. Practice on a regular basis really makes a difference to the confidence level of the learner.

Listening to children read on a regular basis also reinforces the reading and comprehension skills necessary for Literacy development. It is also a big factor in increasing the enjoyment of reading for our young learners.

Pre-testing Spelling and Number Facts is also a great way to volunteer at our school. With our supported programs in Spelling and Number Facts, volunteers can assist with this important facet of learning in both Literacy and Numeracy.

If you would like to volunteer at our school, please contact the school office or classroom teachers to register your interest.

Please note – all volunteers who are not current parents/carers of children presently at the school require a Blue Card to work with children.
